hello there! after leaving halloween and thanksgiving behind, it is time to move on to christmas! “what about books”, you ask? in today’s blog post, i will be giving you five (+1 bonus book) book recommendations that will get you in that cozy and festive mood for this christmas. these books are all out/have been published on november 2022!
1) A Very Merry Bromance- Lyssa Kay Adams
if you are a fan of the Bromance Book Club series, the fifth book in the series might be the one for you! here is the synopsis of the book:
‘Tis the season for a Bromance Book Club matchmaking mission! This time, they’re pulling out the mistletoe for everyone’s favorite country music star, Colton, and his second chance at love.
Country music’s golden boy Colton Wheeler felt the most perfect harmony when he was with Gretchen Winthrop. But for her, it was a love him and leave him situation. A year later, Colton is struggling to push his music forward in a new direction. If it weren’t about to be the most magical time of year and the support of the Bromance Book Club, he’d be wallowing in self-pity.
It’s hard for immigration attorney Gretchen not to feel a little Scrooge-ish about the excess of Christmas when her clients are scrambling to afford their rent. So when her estranged, wealthy family reaches out with an offer that will allow her to better serve the community, she’s unable to say no. She just needs to convince Colton to be the new face of her family’s whiskey brand. No big deal…
Colton agrees to consider Gretchen’s offer in exchange for three dates before Christmas. With the help of the Bromance Book Club, Colton throws himself into the task of proving to her there’s a spark between them. But Gretchen and Colton will both need to overcome the ghosts of Christmas past to build a future together.
2) The Christmas Script- Sara Wetmore
this one is quite a short one (only 86 pages long!) and people on goodreads seem to agree that it looks straight out of a hallmark movie. the synopsis:

After being in St. Nicholas, Idaho for about an hour, Holly is pretty sure she gets the gist: small town, log cabin, snow, lake, Christmas, blah, blah, blah. It’s not that she’s a cynic; it’s simply that the holidays have always been difficult.
Despite the challenges of her past, Holly is very content with her successful career as the head writer for a hit soap opera set in a small western town. But after receiving criticism from the studio about her script for the holiday special, she finds herself in a festive town situated right outside of Yellowstone National Park for the sole purpose of celebrating her most dreaded season. The studio hopes the town will give her the inspiration she needs to make her script rewrite a sensation – otherwise she may lose her job to her obsessive ex-boyfriend and fellow writer, Cole.
Although she is eager to get to work and return home to Los Angeles, her annoying neighbor, Kristopher, poses a serious distraction – and not just from his incessant noise. Extending an olive branch, Kristopher offers to show her what makes Christmas in St. Nicholas so magical so she can experience the holiday like she never has before.
With the deadline for the script deadline rapidly approaching, will Kristopher impede her progress or will he help her salvage her career?
In this novella by award-winning indie romance author, Sara Wetmore, fans of Emily Henry’s Book Lovers and those with an insatiable appetite for Hallmark Christmas movies will appreciate this fast-paced rom-com that can entertain and excite even the most skeptical reader.

The only problem with that is she has no boyfriend. That is until she meets a handsome—albeit annoying—stranger on the plane who makes her an offer she can’t refuse.
Finn Beckett has always had good luck, as demonstrated by the gorgeous blonde he’s seated next to on a flight to Aspen. One drink too many leads to Olive spilling her problems in his lap, and he feels compelled to help. So he makes her an offer: he’ll pretend to be her boyfriend to keep her family off her back and make this the best Christmas ever.
Olive and Finn spend the next two weeks going on spirit-filled Christmas dates with her family. Their ruse is working perfectly, but Finn can’t help but notice Olive is holding something back. Something that could ruin everything.

Jack

I’m living my worst nightmare. Competing on a baking show surrounded by loud people all day. But it’s fine. I’m fine. Our family bakery is in trouble and I’d do anything to keep the memory of Mom alive since Love Bakes is the only place where I still feel her presence. Which is why I’m so determined to win the prize money. No distractions, no friendships, no having fun. It’s all about business. Until I meet bubbly Meg—someone whom I’d normally be annoyed by. Maybe life is about more than work? Meg certainly has me thinking that way. But what about Mom’s bakery?
Megan
Paying Mom back to avoid law school is the main reason I signed up for Baking Spirits Bright. I also want to expand my bakery. But when all I can think about is my number one competitor, the gorgeously grumpy people-hater, Jack, my chances of winning diminish like cake crumbs. He’s aloof and ridiculously handsome and pretends not to know who I am. The longer we compete, the more distracted I am by him. How can I win if I’m staring at him the entire time? Although, I’m not even sure I want the money anymore. I just want Jack.

p.s: yes, i did bake that gingerbread-santa-cookie on the thumbnail of this post and no, i did not have a proper cookie cutter shaped like santa’s head so it looks a bit messy and disorganized, but don’t we all look that way during this time of the year?!
i have not been paid, nor asked to make this post by any author or publisher. these are recommendations of my own.
